DR. HOUSE

Those of you that know me well, know that I love the show HOUSE. It's beyond entertaining...it's an experience. I have seen most of the episodes but there's been a few I've missed along the way.

Gwen has wanted me to see LINE IN THE SAND from season 3 for a long time now and we just never got around to it. It's about a boy with autism.

She rented it yesterday and had Jag and I watch it. WOW!! Jag and I have seen tons of shows/movies on autism but this one came the closest to depicting our lives. Mark is more communicative and has better eye contact than the boy in the show but otherwise, it's dead on. One scene in particular had Jag and I stop and look at each other with our jaws on the floor ( It involved Dr. Foreman wanting the boy to go for a test and the parents explaining " just let him get to level 1 on this game then he'll be ready" ).

Another scene that caused us to nod in agreement is when Dr. House explains to his team " these parents have lived with him for 10 years and watched and observed him. They have rarely brought him into the doctor and now they are saying his scream sounds differently. We need to figure out what's wrong with him" ( I'm paraphrasing but basically his team is saying it's a waste of time to examine the boy - that the only thing wrong with him is his autism ).

It's well worth renting and I urge all of you to check it out:

MM is this the one where they kid had some kind of parasite in his eyes ?

I could be mixing that episode up with another but I do remember seeing the part you described about the video game !

If I remember right I started watching the show after it had already started so I missed parts of it but I remember that part.

I like House when I catch it, I will have to remember to DVR it because it must be conflicting with some sick reality show I am addicted too 0_0

Yep, that's the one Mit - came closest to depicting our lives with Mark as any show I've seen thus far.
